The Greater Birmingham Humane Society is excited to announce that we have been chosen to participate in the ASPCA Save More Lives: $100K Challenge! The GBHS is one of 50 shelters around the country competing to win $100,000. All we have to do is adopt a minimum of 300 more pets in the months of August, September, and October than we did in those same months in 2009. The shelter that adopts the most over and above the minimum will win $100,000!
To do this, WE NEED YOUR HELP! If you have been thinking about adopting a pet, NOW IS THE TIME! To encourage an increase in adoptions and to jump start the Challenge, we will be waiving ALL adoption fees for the first two weeks of August. The same love and care will still go into each and every pet at our shelter; however, we are hoping more lives will be saved by waiving adoption fees. Although we want to find homes for every pet at our shelter, we will maintain our adoption standards - after all these pets deserve the best homes possible!
If you are not ready for a pet just yet, consider becoming a volunteer for the GBHS. Or, share your favorite adoptable pet from the GBHS by sending it to your friends, family, neighbors - anyone who might be interested in that little guy or gal! When you share your favorite pet, please take a moment to tell us who you promoted!
We can't do what we do without you! Help us win the ASPCA Challenge! $100K will go a long way in caring for the Greater Birmingham area's homeless pets.
While adoption fees will be waived for the first two weeks of August, we ask that every adopter considers the services we provide for each pet. We are giving you the power to make a donation based on how you value our services and your new family companion.
