My Halo

Sweet "mama cat" stole my heart and let me be her angel, so we renamed her Halo.

Sometimes adopting an animal can make you feel a little bit like an angel. However, some of us just want to save them all. This was my case. I love animals and hate to see them without an "angel". So I convinced my husband to let us rescue just one more. Just one. I began looking online for rescue centers in the area, because our local humane society, is anything but humane. I found the GBHS, and I found Halo. Now this Halo was a sweet, tiny, black and white kitty. I adored her even in the pictures. But, as we all know, things don't go exactly as planned. My little Halo was adopted by her angel before I had a chance to swoop in. OK Lord, I submitted, which cat should I be an angel for. I opened my mind and really looked at each cat on the site. And "mama cat" jumped out at me. She was so unique, so colorful. I loved her immediately. I felt as if I was to be her angel.
The next day my husband and I took a little trip to the GBHS. I was very impressed with the facility. The volunteers were so kind and knowledgeable. They showed us the cats. I picked out my kitty immediately! There she was! I was so excited I could barely take time to fill out the paper work. But I got all the paper work filled out and finally got to see my kitty. She was very quiet and polite. She loved all the petting and rubbing. I took her home that day.
That was two months ago and my sweet kitty has just stolen my heart all over again. She has settled in with the other cats very well and entertains us nightly by playing and zooming around the living room. She follows me all over the house and just wants to be wherever I am. Sweet "mama cat" stole my heart and let me be her angel, so we renamed her Halo. She always reminds me that, for her, I have a little halo myself.
