Minnie has been such a great dog and I am now an advocate for animal adoption. THANKS GBHS for all you have done. MORE updates soon!

I just moved home from college and wanted a dog to play with. At first we could not decide on what kind of dog our family wanted. My dad wanted a pug or Jack Russell, my mom wanted a small lap dog, and I wanted a big playful indoor fun dog. In the past we owned a Dalmatian and an Australian Shepard that were outside dogs. We searched nearby shelters in Chelsea and searched other shelters for the perfect dog. We came by GBHS and just could not decide on a dog that fit our family. After the 4th of July weekend we researched and decided that we wanted a lab or a golden retriever that would only be a inside dog. My mom dad and I agreed on everything and went dog necessity pricing. Once we figured how much everything would be we went back to GBHS because of the clean, welcoming facility. GBHS also had a variety of dogs. I had my eye set on one dog and it was just not meant to be. Then I found Minnie!!!
They brought her in the room with my mom and I and I fell in love. She was sweet, playful, and jumped right in my lab. The GBHS volunteers had nothing but good things to say about her. She is around 3 months old. She is a lab mix. We have been told she is mixed with a hound, I though a Dalmatian and the vet today said a German short-haired pointer. She was named Minnie, by GBHS, because she is primarily white with brown spots and she has Minnie mouse ear spots on her back. She is sooo sweet, lovable, and such a people person. We have already house trained and crate trained her and she gets plenty of exercise. She loves riding in the car and today was her first Vet visit. We went to the Chelsea Animal Clinic and updated her on all her shots. She weighs 25lbs and is 16 weeks old and will be a big dog when she grows up. The vet said she was physically healthy and has no health problems.
