There are many ways that you can help make a difference in the lives of the pets and people serviced by the Greater Birmingham Humane Society. All it takes is a little of your time or other available resources.

  • Greater Birmingham Humane Society volunteers support our mission by donating their valuable time and helping us better reach out into the community. Volunteer opportunities are available for people of all ages, learn more by clicking the Volunteer link at the top.
  • One unique and very helpful "volunteer" activity that you can do from home is to promote our adoptable pets. By helping raise awareness of the wonderful pets that are currently available for adoption, you will be directly impacting their lives. The process is simple, and the rewards are heart warming! We suggest that you start by sharing the photos and information of your favorite two pets at the GBHS on Twitter, Facebook, by email, and by printing their adoption profiles and posting them in your workplace or other public access areas. The homeless pets at the GBHS are counting on YOU! Get started by viewing our adoptable pets. We would love to know which pets you are promoting! Please take a moment to complete our short survey!
  • The Greater Birmingham Humane Society offers a wide variety of giving options to help support the on-going care of the pets and community that we serve. Every gift makes a difference in the life of a pet. Learn more about the different giving programs available by clicking the Donate link at the top.
  • Special events help raise public awareness and funding for the work that we do at the Greater Birmingham Humane Society. Click the Special Events link at the top to learn about our upcoming events.
