Thank you for choosing to support the Greater Birmingham Humane Society! We are a nonprofit organization that was founded in 1883 to serve the pets and people of the Greater Birmingham community. We currently receive no city, state, federal, or United Way funding to subsidize our $1.7 million dollar budget. Throughout our long history we have largely depended on the generosity of the public and foundations to help us meet the community’s needs.
