Hi, my name is Sunkist and I'm quite the character. I'm playful & sweet and, since I prefer the company of fellow cats over people, I'd make a great companion kitty. My best friend, Sweetie, and I would love to find a home where we can stay together...do you have room in your heart and home for us? You can easily find us in the front lobby inside "Sam's Spot", so please take us to our forever home today!

The Greater Birmingham Humane Society offers a wide variety of services to our community. You may learn about some of our most prominent services by selecting one of the following links:
- Report Animal Cruelty - In our quest to reduce animal cruelty we must totally rely on you and your love for animals. We realize that it is sometimes difficult to know when to intervene. We hope that the guidelines contained in this section will help you know when to seek help for a neglected or abused animal.
- Spay/Neuter Resources - The Greater Birmingham Humane Society encourages all pet owners to have their pet spayed or neutered. Altering or “fixing” pets is the only proven method to ending the senseless euthanasia of healthy, adoptable pets in our community. Help us stop the killing by reviewing the spay or neuter resources available in our community and make an appointment to have your pet altered today!
- Pet Surrendering - The Greater Birmingham Humane Society would like to find a home for every animal we receive. However, you should be aware that adoption from our facilities may not be possible even for healthy, friendly, well-behaved pets. Learn how you can increase the possibility that your pet will find a new family.
- Humane Education - The Greater Birmingham Humane Society’s Humane Education Program reaches children of all ages. Our Education Program goes into schools, child care centers, and libraries. We also host Critter Camp, birthday parties, and class tours. Additionaly our Education Department coordinates our Humane Teen Club!
